Swedish medical technology company RaySearch Laboratories AB (OMX Stockholm: RAY B) announced on Tuesday (5 August) that it has landed a new consulting contract from Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden.

The assignment involves development of a new treatment planning system for proton radiation therapy for the hospital's Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala.

RaySearch Laboratories said that, although the assignment has no direct financial impact on the company, it is important in that it represents the first time the company's proton system will be used clinically.

RaySearch Laboratories, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, develops advanced software solutions for improved radiation therapy of cancer. The company's products are used by over 1,300 clinics in more than 30 countries.
