Swedish prefabricated houses maker Open House Production AB announced on Wednesday (13 February) that it has decided to close down its production plant in Arlov, Sweden.

The Arlov facility produces house modules and has 96 employees, of which some will be offered continued employment within the company's other operations.

Open House Production cited increased building costs, an uncertain market and a low capacity utilisation as reasons for closing the Arlov plant.

Open House Production, headquartered in Arlov, Sweden, develops and manufactures prefabricated homes and building modules, and reported a turnover of SEK500m in 2007. The company is owned by the Norwegian group OBOS.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.65 Swedish kronor (SEK).
