Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab AB announced on Wednesday (23 January) that its subsidiary, Saab Microwave Canada Ltd, has received a new radar service contract from the Canadian Navy.

The six-year contract, an extension and expansion of a previous agreement, covers support, repair and overhaul of the GIRAFFE 150 HC surveillance radar installed on the Canadian Navy's Halifax class frigates.

The contract is valued at approximately EUR16m.

Saab, headquartered in Linkoping in Sweden, is a high-tech company active within defence, aviation and space. The company has 13,600 employees and annual sales of EUR2.3bn. Saab is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.34 euros (EUR).
