Swedish medical technology developer Sectra AB said on Thursday (3 January) that it has signed a subcontractor agreement with British Telecommunications (BT).

Under the agreement Sectra will provide support and maintenance services for radiology image handling systems (PACS) at London hospitals.

BT is the local service provider for the NHS London Programme for IT.

The value of the agreement was not disclosed.

Sectra, headquartered in Linkoping, Sweden develops and sells medical systems and secure communication systems. The company has operations in eleven countries and reported sales of SEK673m in the financial year 2006/2007. Sectra is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.89 Swedish kronor (SEK).
