Danish cement and minerals industry supplier FLSmidth & Co A/S announced on Thursday (31 January) that it has landed new contracts for approximately DKK257m from Antofagasta Minerals SA in Chile.

The contracts cover deliveries of crushing and grinding equipment for Antofagasta Minerals' copper, gold and molybdenum operation in Esperanza. The equipment, which reportedly includes the largest mills and cone crushers to be installed in the world to date, will have a daily capacity of 95,000 tonnes of ore.

"The orders confirm the confidence mining customers place in FLSmidth Minerals' design technology. The relationship developed with Esperanza's sister company, Minera Los Pelambres, where FLSmidth Minerals has a complete maintenance contract, played an important role in the negotiations. As such, these initial contracts provide further opportunity to supply Esperanza with additional products and services," commented Jorgen Huno Rasmussen, CEO of FLSmidth & Co.

FLSmidth & Co, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, provides engineering services for the global cement and minerals industry. The group has 5,850 employees and an annual turnover of DKK12.3bn. FLSmidth & Co is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Copenhagen.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 10.02 Danish kroner (DKK).
