Swedish telecomms operator Tele2 AB (OMX Stockhol: TEL2 A) (OMX Stockholm: TEL2 B) reported on Wednesday (23 July) an operating profit of SEK1.1bn on sales of SEK10.2bn for the second quarter 2008.
Both operating profit and sales for the three-month period increased, respectively, from SEK736m and SEK9.5bn, as compared to the corresponding period in 2007.
Earnings per share (EPS) amounted to SEK0.27, up from the loss of SEK0.67 a year ago.

Tele2, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a pan-European operator with more than 30m customers in 22 countries. The group reported operating revenue of SEK43.4bn in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.90 Swedish kronor (SEK).
