Norwegian Internet browsers developer Opera Software ASA (OSE:OPERA) said on Tuesday (10 June) that it has licensed its Opera 9.5 SDK for Devices software development kit to the Dutch company Philips Consumer Electronics.
The SDK kit will enable Philips Consumer Electronics to make the Opera web browser available on a new range of connected TVs aimed at the mass consumer market, Opera Software said.
The value of the agreement was not disclosed, but according to Opera Software the agreement is based on licence, support and maintenance fees.
Opera Software, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, develops the cross-platform Opera web browser for PCs, mobile phones and other networked devices. The company has some 460 employees and reported revenue of NOK315.5m in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 9.94 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
