Norwegian Internet browsers developer Opera Software ASA (OSE:OPERA) announced on Tuesday (10 June) that the Japanese 3G operator KDDI has selected the Opera Mobile browser for 12 of its new mobile phones.
The Opera Mobile browser will be included on the BREW-based devices Hitachi W62H, Sharp W62SH, Sanyo W63SA, Toshiba Sportio, Casio W62CA, Sanyo W64SA, Toshiba W62T, Sony Ericsson re, Kyocera W64K, Kyocera W62K, Kyocera W63K and Pantech W62PT.
"Opera Software will receive royalties in accordance with the software licensing agreement between Opera and KDDI," Opera Software said.
Opera Software, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, develops the cross-platform Opera web browser for PCs, mobile phones and other networked devices. The company has some 460 employees and reported revenue of NOK315.5m in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 9.94 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
