Swedish imaging software developer Scalado AB said on Wednesday (11 June) that it has signed a licensing agreement for its mobile imaging software with the mobile phone operating systems developer Symbian Ltd.
The three-year agreement will improve the Symbian operating system's imaging performance for higher megapixel images, as well as speed up rendering, scaling and rotation while reducing memory consumption.
As part of the licensing deal Symbian and Scalado have agreed to establish a joint development team to further improve Symbian's camera and imaging offering.
Scalado, headquartered in Lund, Sweden, develops imaging software for wireless devices. The company's main shareholders include NorthCap Partners, Industrifonden and Teknoseed, as well as the company's founders.
