Swedish construction group Skanska (OMX Stockholm:SKA B) said on Wednesday (11 June) that its US unit Skanska USA Civil has won a third contract in connection with a project to upgrade the Newtown Creek wastewater treatment facility in New York.
The new contract covers demolition of existing facilities and reconstruction of new units at the Newtown Creek Water Pollution Control Plant in Brooklyn and represents the final phase of the upgrading project.
The new contract is valued at USD431m.
Skanska, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is one of the world's leading construction groups with operations in Europe, the US and Latin America. The company has some 60,000 employees and reported sales of SEK139bn in 2007.
