Norwegian Internet browsers developer Opera Software ASA (OSE: OPERA) said on Tuesday (17 June) that the Japanese cable company Usen Corporation has selected the Opera browser for its set-top boxes.
Usen licensed the Opera 9.5 SDK for Devices toolkit to make the Opera browser available on a new range of set-top boxes.
The value of the agreement was not disclosed, but Opera Software said that it is based on license, support and development fees.
Opera Software, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, develops the cross-platform Opera web browser for PCs, mobile phones and other networked devices. The company has some 460 employees and reported revenue of NOK315.5m in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 10.19 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
