Swedish fashion retail chain H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (OMX Stockholm: HM B) issued on Wednesday (18 June) its report for the first half of the financial year 2007/2008, posting sales (including VAT) of SEK48,653m, as compared to SEK43,255m in the first half of 2006/2007.
The operating profit for the period amounted to SEK8,954m, up from SEK8,158m in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Earnings per share increased to SEK8.31 from SEK6.97.
H&M, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is an international fashion group with 68,000 employees and 1,500 stores in 28 countries, and with annual sales of over SEK92bn
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.85 Swedish kronor (SEK).
