Ericsson wins managed services contract in Saudi Arabia

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) said on Thursday (13 March) that it has been selected as managed services partner by Mobily, a Saudi Arabian mobile operator, a member of the Etisalat Group.
Ericsson said that the 3-year multivendor agreement is the largest managed services agreement for the company the Middle East and one of the largest in the industry in the region.
Under the agreement, Ericsson will be responsible for network operations, field operations and optimisation as well as the spare parts management.
The agreement also makes Ericsson responsible for site maintenance of Mobily's entire multi-vendor network.
No financial information was provided.
Ericsson, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, provides technology and services to telecomms operators all over the world. The group has over 70,000 employees in 175 countries and reported revenues of SEK189bn in 2007. Ericsson is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm, the London Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.29 Swedish kronor (SEK).
