Norwegian state-owned power utility Statkraft said on Friday (14 March) that Statkraft and Catamount Energy have selected Siemens Wind Power to provide turbines for the Blaengwen Wind Farm in Wales.
The project is a partnership of a Catamount affiliate and Statkraft and will be the first of the partners' four wind power projects in the UK to be completed.
The wind farm will consist of 10 wind turbines from Siemens and will have a total installed capacity of 23 MW.
Turbine deliveries will start in the summer of 2009 and the wind farm will enter into commercial operations by autumn 2009.
Statkraft, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is a European leader within renewable energy. The company has 2,250 employees in 10 countries.
