Swedish car spare parts chain Mekonomen AB (OMX Stockholm: MEKO) said on Friday (16 May) that it has signed cooperation agreements with the car rental company AVIS and the network construction, installation and maintenance company Relacom in Sweden.
Under the agreement Mekonomen will provide service, repairs and accessories for the new customers' fleets of a total of 8,000 vehicles.
The cooperation agreements are part of Mekonomen's strategy to expand in the corporate market, and will see the company establish a new business area, Mekonomen Fleet.
No financial details were disclosed.
Mekonomen, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, operates a chain of 194 car spare parts stores. The company has 1,270 employees and reported revenues of SEK2.55bn in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.73 Swedish kronor (SEK).
