Finnish telecomms infrastructure company Nokia Siemens Networks said on Tuesday (20 May) that Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) is launching its Mobile TV service using the Nokia Siemens Networks' Mobile TV streaming solution.

Nokia Siemens Networks said the Mobile TV streaming deployment, including a mobile client application, is one of its first in Asia Pacific. SingTel will be the first mobile operator to launch this service in Singapore.

The contract also includes a range of services which has allowed SingTel to start its new Mobile TV offering quickly and guarantee ongoing platform stability and quality, the company said.

Nokia Siemens Networks, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is an international telecomms infrastructure company with operations in some 150 countries worldwide. The company is owned by the Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and the German electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens.
