Finnish power plants and ship power solutions supplier Wartsila Corporation (OMX Helsinki:WRTAV) said on Thursday (29 May) that it will strengthen its international customer service by centralising the spare parts logistics and by building a new spare parts distribution centre in the Netherlands.
A large and modern central warehouse is planned near the company's current service unit in the Netherlands, the company said.
Wartsil will invest approximately EUR70m in the new distribution centre over three years from 2008 to 2010.
The intention is to outsource logistics and warehousing operations, the company added.
Wartsila Corporation supplies power solutions for the marine and energy markets. The company has over 16,000 employees in 70 countries.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.26 euros (EUR).
