Finnish telecomms infrastructure company Nokia Siemens Networks said on Monday (5 May) that it will modernise the Indonesian operator Telkomsel's network to Release 4 architecture with its MSC Server System mobile softswitch solution.

Nokia Siemens Networks said that the solution will help the operator to reduce operating expenses while expanding communications services

Under the three-year frame work agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy the latest generation softswitch across Indonesia, the company added.

Nokia Siemens Networks will start to deliver its solutions and services in May 2008.

Nokia Siemens Networks, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is an international telecomms infrastructure company with operations in some 150 countries worldwide. The company is owned by the Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and the German electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens.
