Norwegian telecomms group Telenor ASA (OSE:TEL) said on Wednesday (7 May) that its subsidiary Pannon installs Hungary's most powerful heat pump based on renewable energy at its new headquarters.

The breakthrough heating/cooling system will make use of 180 geothermic heat probes drilled 100 metres deep to provide cold and hot water regulating temperature in the building.

This is the seventh largest project of its kind in Europe, Telenor added.

Telenor has a 100% ownership interest in Pannon, the second largest mobile operator in Hungary.

Telenor is a mobile operator, with nearly 83m subscribers in 12 countries and a provider of television services in the Nordic region. Telenor has some 27,600 employees and annual revenues of nearly NOK70bn.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 10.17 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
