Saab's Gripen selected as one alternative as future fighter for Brazil

Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab AB (OMX Stockholm:SAAB B) announced on Thursday (2 October) that its Gripen NG (Next Generation) multi-role fighter is on the short list as one alternative to equip the Brazilian Air Force.

The Gripen NG offer from Saab is supported by the Swedish Government, the company added.

"We are pleased to be included by the Brazilian Air Force in the ongoing selection process and are ready to submit a very attractive proposal", said Lennart Sindahl, executive vice president for Saab.

Saab, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a global high-tech group providing products, services and solutions from military defence to civil security. The group has 13,700 employees worldwide and annual sales of SEK23bn.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 12.16 Swedish kronor (SEK).
