Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE:NOK) (OMX Helsinki:NOK1V) said on Monday (29 September) that Nokia and its joint venture, Nokia Siemens Networks, have entered into a patent license agreement with Huawei and its affiliates for standards essential patents.

The comprehensive agreement covers the worldwide use of all standards essential patents of all parties, including GSM, WCDMA, CDMA2000, optical networking, datacom and WiMAX in mobile devices, infrastructure and services.

Nokia Siemens Networks, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is an international telecomms infrastructure company with operations in some 150 countries worldwide. Nokia Siemens Networks is owned by Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and the German electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens

Nokia, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is a global mobile phone and network equipment manufacturer. The group has 112,300 employees worldwide and reported sales of over EUR51bn in 2007.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.26 euros (EUR).
