The Finnish engineering and technology group Metso Corporation (OMX Helsinki:MEO1V) said on Monday (29 September) that it will acquire PSP Slevarna, a producer of finished machined manganese wear parts in Czech Republic, from two private persons.
The company will be transferred to Metso on 1 October 2008, Metso said. The factory will be integrated into Metso Minerals' Construction business line.
The annual net sales of the company account for approximately EUR20m, Metso said.
With this transaction Metso improves its capacity to supply wear parts to crushing and screening plants for the construction and mining customers.
The parties have mutually agreed that the financial terms of the transaction will not be disclosed.
Metso, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, provides technology and services to customers in the pulp and paper industry, rock and minerals processing, the energy industry and selected other industries. The group has nearly 27,000 employees in some 50 countries and reported net sales of EUR6bn in 2007.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.26 euros (EUR).
