Norwegian offshore drilling contractor Songa Offshore ASA (OSE:SONGA) said on Saturday (27 September) that it has received a contract for its drilling rig Songa Saturn from CNOOC Africa Ltd.

The contract, valued at an estimated USD30m including mobilisation fees, covers a one-well drilling programme offshore Equatorial Guinea.

The contract will commence in late 2009, after the completion of a current drilling campaign in Libya.

Songa Offshore, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is an offshore drilling company operating four semi-submersible rigs and one drill ship. In addition to its headquarters in Oslo, the company also has offices in the US, Singapore, Equatorial Guinea and Australia.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.84 US dollars (USD).
