Finnish airline Finnair Plc (OMX Helsinki:FIA1S) said on Tuesday that it has opened an Internet shop that will allow Finnair Plus members to use their frequent flyer points to make purchases.

Members will be able to buy products at Finnair's new online shop using Plus points alone, cash, or a combination of the two. Members can decide on the ratio of points and cash used for the purchases themselves, according to how many points they wish to use.

Around 1,300 products are initially available at the Internet shop, with more items being added. Finnish design brands such as Hackman, Iittala and Marimekko, as well as international brands such as Design House Stockholm, Eva Solo and Normann Copenhagen, are featured in the shop.

Customers who are not members of Finnair's frequent flyer programme can also buy products from the Finnair Plus Shop, which is also open to international customers. The shop is located at http://www.finnairplusshop.com and is offered in Finnish, Swedish and English.
