Chief of Naval Operations Valor Award

Lt. Francisco Silebi, also of VF-41, received the Chief of Naval Operations Valor Award for combat operations over Kosovo. Silebi received the award for his calm professionalism in the face of danger when several surface-to-air missiles were launched against his aircraft in April 1999. The Valor Award is given to the individual who most embodies the spirit of bravery.
