New uniform - AirMail - Letter to the Editor
Airman, Dec, 2003 by Guy Piatti
I really like the new uniform, I think it's good for each branch to have its own distinctive look. I also think it will give each individual additional time to do better work because this uniform requires much less maintenance.

I have to comment on the newly proposed battle dress uniform currently undergoing testing. I think it's pathetic. I'd rather be in a woodland camouflage uniform any day of the week.
The current uniform will keep you alive in a hostile environment. I have seen photos of troops going through the woods with the new style on, and that black, blue grey/white pattern made them stand out like a sore thumb. If a sniper ever needed a more inviting target, those individuals would be going home in body bags.
The Air Force spends too much time on spit and polish. As we go to an air expeditionary force concept, survival begins with the uniform. I'd rather hide/camouflage myself from the enemy than be a target in their sights.
