Delivers war-winning expeditionary capabilities to the warfighter through technology, acquisition support and sustainment by employing management, research, acquisition, development, testing and maintenance of existing and future weapons systems and their components. Blends acquisitions, science and technology with logistics and sustainment to provide cradle-to-grave program management--everything from new programs such as the Joint Strike Fighter and Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle, to retiring weapon systems like the C-141. Provides warfighters the weapon systems and support needed for air and space superiority through eight distinct mission areas. Provides effective and efficient support in science and technology, test and evaluation, information management, product support, supply management, depot maintenance, information services, and installations and support.
