Ribbon acknowledges recruiters - Brief Article
Airman, Feb, 2001
WASHINGTON (AFPN) - A new ribbon recognizing the work of past, present and future Air Force recruiters will be available this year.
The recruiting ribbon will be awarded upon graduation from recruiting school along with a one-time award of two points toward promotion under the Weighted Airman Promotion System.
Airmen will be authorized to wear the ribbon on a temporary basis, while performing recruiting duty, immediately upon graduation from recruiting school. They will be entitled to permanently wear the ribbon upon successful completion of 36 months of duty as a recruiter with commander approval.
Wear of the ribbon is retroactive for active duty or Reserve members who successfully completed 36 months of duty as an Air Force recruiter. However, entitlement for the promotion points becomes effective only for currently assigned recruiters who have completed 36 months of recruiting duty as of June 21, 2000. Former recruiters and those who have been temporarily assigned to support the career field won't receive the bonus points.
The ribbon will be available early this year through the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. It will be worn between the Military Training Instructor Ribbon and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
