Thunderbirds release 2004 show schedule - Airman's World - Calendar

Airman, Feb, 2004

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- The Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, goes back on the road next month. The team will perform more than 64 public shows in 23 states, Canada and Asia.

A member of Air Combar Command, the squardon's home base is Nellis.

The team has eight pilots (including six demonstration pilots), four support officers, four civilians and about 120 enlisted people in more than 25 Air Force specialties.

A Thunderbirds' aerial demonstration show is a mix of formation flying and solo routines. The pilots perform some 40 maneuvers in a demonstration. The entire show, including ground and air, runs about one hour.

The air show season is from March to November, and new members train during the winter months.
