Search and rescue
Airman, Spring, 2006 by Ricky A. Bloom
Surrounded by the African landscape, Air Force pararescuemen secure "injured" patients like Capt. Jessica Mayernik on stretchers before being transported on a Marine CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter. The simulated car crash scenario was part of a search and rescue exercise or SAREX, at Camp Lemonier in Djibouti, Africa.
The camp is headquarters for Combined Joint Task Force--Horn of Africa, where servicemembers work to combat terrorism to establish a secure environment and enable regional stability.
