Fast-roping

Airman, June, 2004 by Aaron Allmon, II

A pararescueman from the 64th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron fast-ropes from on HH-60G Pave Hawk while deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq. Pararescue is the only Department of Defense specialty trained and equipped to conduct conventional or unconventional rescue operations in humanitarian and combat environments.

The Pave Hawk is a modified version of the Army Black Hawk with a primary mission to conduct day or night operations into hostile areas to recover downed aircrews or other isolated people during war.
