Decks trucks, wheels. The sk8er chick knows these are what make up a skateboard. And if you like floating, you will have this edgy new form of skater boarding--downhill slalom. Racers line up on two identical courses side by side and leave in and out between some 30 to 50 cones. The object Get to the bottom with the fastest time without knocking any cones or going off course.

Amateur racer Lauren Gordon says "It's a lot like snowboarding and surfing". Skaters use the same hip-to-foot turning styles. Lauren has been racing for over a year and tells us. "There are a lot more boys than girls. We usually have only eight girls even when there are 70 guys. But don't let the gender imbalance sway you Lauren says downhill slalom is totally fun. Just suit up with wrist elbow and knee guards a couple of hip pads and, of course, a helmet and you'll be ready to race.
