NO MO' MENSTRUATION MYSTERIES

Thank you so much for "Oops, I Got It Again!" [D/J '01]. I've had my period since last year, but it's great to learn more. It helps me understand more about my body. It's great for girls who don't have their periods, too.

--Julie

I read "Oops, I Got It Again!" [D/J '01], and I want to say thanks! I'm 13 and, when I got the magazine, I hadn't even gotten my period yet. But, today, I just got my period. You really helped and I feel a lot more prepared.

--Amy

NOT ALONE

I read Karen's Page [D/J '01] about early puberty It helped me a lot. I got my period way before my friends After reading her letter, I realize I am normal and not alone. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels the same way.

--Amanda

I'd like to commend Karen on "Karen's Page" [D/J '01]. I'm 13, and I always tried to hide myself while changing for gym class because I developed early I always thought it was unfair that I had to go through puberty before others Thanks for great, inspiring articles in a great magazine!

TO CLUB OR NOT TO CLUB?

The other day, my friends asked me if I wanted to go to an under-age club I told them I wanted more info first After reading "Generation Extreme [D/J '01], my decision is made. I've told my friends thanks, but no thanks Thank you for educating me and lots of other readers.

--Deidre

The girls who wear tight, cheap clothing and lie to their parents just so they can go to an under-age club appall me What's wrong with hanging out at the movies or at a friend's house? There are other things girls can do besides going to some trashy nightclub Everybody likes to have fun, but do it in some other way than hanging out at a club until 1 a.m.

--Anonymous

Just because kids go to clubs, and act wild and crazy doesn't mean were out of control. Teens like to have fun and party. It's a way to blow off steam after a hard week of school. It's also a better alternative to drinking and drugs

--Jenette

I am disappointed in "Generation Extreme." You portray dancing like it's a crime. I love to dance with guys and grind. I don't try to get attention from them-I just want to have fun. This dancing goes on at supervised parties, and most parents don't mind and I don't see why they or you should.

PRAISE FOR PERFECTION

Thanks so much for "Miss Perfect--NOT!" [D/J '01]. My mom puts a lot of pressure on me about school Once I got a B, and all I heard was, "You can do better than that." After reading your article, I talked to my mom and she's a lot better now.

--Eleanor

"Miss Perfect--NOT!" [D/J '01] is perfect for me in every way. I'm going to think over my schedule and activities. I realize being perfect isn't everything. Thanks for changing my life before I ruined it.

--Kelly

Thanks for "Miss Perfect--NOT!" [D/J '01]. I used to be a straight-A student. When I got B's, I beat myself up. Now, I know it's not the end of the world if my grades are a little lower.

WHAT AN INSPIRATION!

Thanks for "Make a Diff!" [D/J '01]. Those girls are WOW! I got so into the article that I wanted to give back to underprivileged children. I bought books with my own money for an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old girl. Thanks for the inspiration!

--Becky

PRETTY PESKY

I totally relate to Jennifur Brandt's "In Praise of Pesky Girls" [D/J '01]. Before I even read the article, I had thought of creating a magazine. I thought I couldn't afford it but, after reading about Jennifur's 'zine, I'm going to start one. Thanks for articles that show girls can do anything!

--Stephanie

HOLIDAY TIME

Thank you for including Hanukkah in your "Creation Station" crafts section [D/J '01]. I'm Jewish and, sometimes, I feel frustrated and left out. Hanukkah is just as important as Christmas. You are incredible for including both Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Thanks, Girls, Life.

--Devon

HAIR'S TO YOU!

Thanks SO much for Holiday Hair [D/J '01]. My hair is curly and a little longer than shoulder length. I didn't have any idea how to wear it. Now, I have awesome ways to fix my hair!
