Girls' Life,  April-May, 2006

... YOUR WAY. For the first time ever, girls' future salary expectations are right up there with boys'. So say the results of the 2006 Junior Achievement Worldwide Interprise Poll on Kids and Careers. When the survey question was first posed four years ago, girls' responses indicated they did not expect to earn as much as boys.

For kids' most popular career choices--businessperson, teacher and doctor--girls now have even higher expectations (you want $250,000 or more annually). This year's poll also shows teen girls are more attracted to jobs requiring higher education. Hey, make sure you demand a full benefits package in next year's poll.
