BFF dilemma of the month: my BFF moved away two months ago. We promised we'd always the BFFs, but she hasn't written at all! - Friends - advice for bestfriend dilemmas
Girls' Life, June-July, 2003
I've sent my BFF seven letters since she moved away, and she hasn't even responded to any of them. What's the deal?
Your BFF has probably made new friends, and so should you. Write another letter asking for her phone number. Call her to set up a time for you two to get together. She probably isn't doing this on purpose. Give her time to adjust.

She probably needs time to settle into her new home. I'm sure your BFF still wants to be your friend. She might be busy adjusting. Also, letters don't always get to the right locution, so double check to see if you have the right address.

My BFF moved away, and we still keep in touch. We take turns calling each other every weekend, and we try to get together in the summer. Keeping in touch is still hard for us, so maybe that is why your BFF hasn't responded yet. Keep trying.

I'm sorry your BFF does not return your letters. There are a number of reasons she might not be writing back. Maybe they are lost in the mail. Even if she's not writing back, she probably still enjoys reading letters from you.

Not answering your letters doesn't have to mean she doesn't want to be friends. Give her space to make new friends and get used to her home. Then, write again. If she still doesn't contact you, maybe she's not a great friend utter all!
