CBA issues outsourcing disclosure regulation

California CPA, August, 2004

The CBA has issued a regulation notice informing licensees of amendments to Regulation 54.1.

The changes require CPAs using any outsourcing service to provide clients with a written notice that information is being shared with others. The notice also must include mention that the confidential information is being shared with those outside the U.S. if that is the case.

In return, the CPA would need the client's permission in writing.
