FTB website gets smarter with new IQ service - FTB News - California Franchise Tax Board - Brief Article

California CPA, Sept, 2002

A new FTB service, IQ, which stands for Internet Query, allows you to view your clients' estimated state tax payments, current-year payment activity and their balance.

Practitioners must provide the client's Social Security number and customer service number. You can get a CSN from the FTB's website by providing your client's Social Security number, last name and overpaid tax or tax due from your client's original 2000 California tax return.

The service provides information for up to 25 estimated tax payments made on an account. Also available is the total balance due on the account as of the current date.

Go to www.ftb.ca.gov and click on IQ My Account Balance which is listed under Online Services.
