Yes Sir! Reporting For Tax Boot Camp, Sir! - Tax Boot Camp - Brief Article

California CPA, Nov, 2000

Just in time for tax season, CalCPA's third annual Tax Boot Camp kicks off in January. This one-week, intensive tax-training course is designed to bring accountants who don't have tax experience up to speed as quickly as possible. The course gives the practical skills you need to succeed in local, regional and even large tax-oriented accounting firms.

The program features:

* Tax-return organization and workpapers;

* Common problems with individuals, corporations and partnerships;

* Budgeting time and prioritizing projects;

* Basic techniques for answering tax questions; and

* Common tax software.

This event will be held Jan. 8-12 at the University of San Diego's School of Business Administration. The cost is $400 for CalCPA members, $500 for nonmembers.

Tax Boot Camp is developed and sponsored by CalCPA's San Diego Chapter, the University of San Diego, San Diego State University, and the University of California Extension. Instructors are Tom Dalton, CPA and associate professor of accounting at USD; and Frank Beiser, CPA and San Diego Chapter past president.
