Centralization of OICs - IRS News - Internal Revenue Service - Brief Article

California CPA, Dec, 2001

The IRS reports that its OIC program is now centralized. All offers now go through one of two sites--the Brookhaven or Memphis IRS service centers.

The sites will be responsible for determining processability and case building for all OICs. The IRS reports that up to 70 percent of new offers will be worked to completion at these locations. The remainder will be worked at local area offices.

Taxpayers residing in California and filing a new offer should mail forms for wage earners or self-employed without employees to:

Memphis Internal Revenue Service Center

COIC Unit

P.O. Box 30803, AMC

Memphis, TN 38130-0803.

All others go to:

Memphis Internal Revenue Service Center

COIC Unit

P.O. Box 30804, AMC

Memphis, TN 38130-0804.
