CPAs Needed to Help California NPOs - Volunteer Opportunity - nonprofit organizations need volunteer accountants - Brief Article

California CPA, Dec, 2001

The Clearinghouse for Volunteer Accounting Services is looking for a few good CPAs. Actually--more than a few.

CVAS is a nonprofit organization that recruits CPAs, bookkeepers and other financial professionals to volunteer their time and talents to small nonprofit organizations that cant afford to pay for accounting services. They've been at work in California for almost 20 years and have helped hundreds of NPOs find accounting assistance.

CVAS launched a new Web site earlier this year. Paul Glass, CVAS president, invites CPAs to visit the site at www.cvas-ca.org to see what CVAS is all about. You'll find listings of many NPO opportunities as well as a list of volunteers.

Glass says volunteers are particularly needed in the San Diego and San Francisco Bay areas. For more information, contact CVAS at (805) 495-6755.
