California CPA, Dec, 2004
John Dunleavy, executive director of the California CPA Education Foundation, has been named CalCPA's Transitional CEO by the CalCPA Board of Directors. The move also was approved by the Education Foundation Board of Trustees. Dunleavy will continue his role as Education Foundation executive director.
Dunleavy will serve as Transitional CEO while a search committee appointed by the CalCPA Board identifies a deputy director to serve as chief operating officer. It is expected that the COO ultimately will be CEO of both CalCPA and the Education Foundation after a transitional period. The two organizations will remain separate entities, however.

Dunleavy, who has more than 25 years of service with CalCPA and the Education Foundation, is not new to this role. He served as CalCPA interim executive director in 2000.
"John provides a wealth of experience and insight into the CPA profession that will prove invaluable during this transitional period," says Paul Regan, CalCPA chair.
Dunleavy can be reached at (650) 802-2400 or john.dunleavy@calcpa.org.
