New chairman for FASB advisory council - FASB News - Financial Accounting Standards Board - Richard J. Swift - Brief Article

Effective in January, Richard J. Swift, former chairman, president and CEO of Foster Wheeler Ltd., is the new chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council. The council advises FASB on technical issues relating to the board's agenda, project priorities and other matters.

Swift succeeds Robert C. Butler, former senior VP and CFO of International Paper Co., who retired in December 2001.

Swift is also a director of Ingersoll Rand Company, and the Public Service Enterprise Group. And, he serves as chairman of their audit committees. He is also the immediate past chairman of the National Foreign Trade Council and a past member of the Business Roundtable and its Trade and Investment Task Force.
