Student outreach wants you! - CalCPA News - outreach to high school students - Brief Article

California CPA, May, 2003

If you've ever wanted to motivate and inspire young people to follow your career path, here's your opportunity! CalCPA's student outreach program is working harder than ever to match your professional experience with high schools in your area.

The future of the profession depends on CPAs like you reaching out to bright, talented students--make your passion contagious.

As another tax season has come to an end, and as the school year begins to wind down, it's a great time to visit your local high school.

CalCPA makes it easy for you. We'll provide resources for your use at local schools. There's Quest magazine, CalCPA's complete source of information on CPA careers, education and licensing. Each volunteer also receives a packet filled with tips and tricks for visiting classrooms, as well as access to a PowerPoint presentation and video.

To participate, simply fill out the form at www.calcpa.org/members/knowledge/ outreach, or contact student outreach coordinator Lisa Brown at (650) 802-2431 or lisa.brown@calcpa.org.

Provide your name, firm name, address, phone number and the names of schools in your area you are interested in visiting.

If you don't have a school in mind, don't worry--we're here to help.
