Optical Transport Market Declines 22 Percent in First Quarter 01 According to Dell'Oro Group - Brief Article

> According to the Dell'Oro Group, the optical transport market (includes DWDM- long haul, DWDM- metro and SONET/SDH) declined 22 percent quarter to quarter, with revenues of $4.8 billion in the first quarter of 2001. Sales of DWDM systems supporting 10 Gbps transmission rates were down considerably in the first quarter, while unit sales of SONET/SDH multiplexers running at rates below 10 Gbps increased quarter to quarter.
