China Telecom's new-generation transmission network underway - International - Brief Article

China Telecom is now engaged in construction of new-generation high-speed transmission loop networks. The first phase of the project involves construction of southern, northern, and western loops as well as the Hangzhou-Nanchang-Changsha trunk. The southern loop WDM system will have eight nodes at the provincial capital level, including four large regional nodes and four ordinary provincial-capital-level nodes.

The northern loop WDM system will have nine nodes at the provincial capital level, including four large regional nodes and five ordinary provincial-capital-level nodes. Areas traversed by the high-speed transmission loop networks are located to the east and west of the Beijing-Wuhan-Guangzhou line, covering almost all the economically developed cities in China.
