Fiber Optics Business, Nov 30, 2001
CityNet Telecommunications formally launched a plan with the City of Dallas to deploy a high-speed fiber optic network through the city's sewer system. Dallas is the ninth city to sign with CityNet in nine months.
The agreement, approved by the Dallas City Council on September 12, allows CityNet to deploy its revolutionary robotic technology and construct a fiber optic network through the city's sewer system that will connect dozens of buildings and the businesses in them simultaneously to the high-speed metro fiber ring that typically circles the city. The result will be fiber optic broadband services for Dallas businesses and residents.
