The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard, Sectional Specification for Conventional, Permanent, Optical Fiber Splices, TIA-609A000.

The purpose of the document is to aid those who prepare detail specifications for conventional, permanent, optical fiber splices and to provide information on specific tests for those who test conventional, permanent, optical fiber splices.
