Fiber Optics Business, Dec 31, 2000

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard, Sectional Specification for Conventional, Permanent, Optical Fiber Splices, TIA-609A000.

This sectional specification covers conventional, permanent, optical fiber splice modules. The purpose of the document is to aid those who prepare detail specifications for conventional, permanent, optical fiber splices and to provide information on specific tests for those who test conventional, permanent, optical fiber splices. TIA-609A000 provides test parameters, suggested attribute values, and data reporting requirements for the test procedures identified in the generic specification and specified in the detail specification.

TIA-609A000 was created by TIA's FO-6.3 Subcommittee on Fiber Optic Interconnecting Devices.
