Motorola sputters - Business - Brief Article

Technology giant Motorola announced that it would lay off another 9,400 workers because of hits taken by the slump in demand. These recent cuts bring its total of laid off workers in 2001 to 48,400. It also announced that lower revenues are expected in 2002 because of reduced spending by its telecom customers.
