Reliacast Teams with Portal Software to Offer First Comprehensive Solution for Advanced Web-Based Content Delivery - Brief Article

Information Superhighways Newsletter, April, 2001

Reliacast Inc., an Internet infrastructure software company for audience management and the intelligent delivery of content, announced an alliance with Portal Software Inc., a provider of business infrastructure software for broadband, wireless, and next-generation communication services. Reliacast will integrate its audience management solution with Portal's Infranet customer management and billing platform to create a comprehensive end-to-end audience management and billing solution for the delivery of live and cached Web-based events.

The Reliacast Solution audience management technology provides businesses with the ability to measure, manage, control, bill, and scale mass audience events on the Web. The integration of the Reliacast Solution with Portal's Infranet will enable content providers, services providers, and content distribution networks to implement advanced business models such as pay-per-view or subscription services, personalize on-line content to the end user and ultimately generate additional revenue streams.

The Reliacast Solution is a platform- and protocol-independent network infrastructure application that manages audiences and enables the intelligent delivery of content, streaming media, and applications. The Reliacast Solution consists of the ReliaServer, Net Agent, Virtual Turnstile, and R-Ticket software applications. These components reside in a service provider network, linking and processing event interaction from the end user to the content provider through the network. Management data is available in real time to network owners, and content and service providers throughout the life of the event. The ability to "know your audience" increases ROI through added revenue, one-to-one marketing, bandwidth provisioning, and improved end-user experience.
