ForestExpress, an e-commerce marketplace dedicated to the paper and forest products industry, has selected Moai Technologies Inc., an e-commerce infrastructure provider, for its sophisticated structured negotiation capabilities to power ForestExpress' recycled fiber and timber vertical B2B marketplaces. ForestExpress has licensed LiveExchange, Moai's structured on-line negotiation software.

By using the on-line negotiation tools in LiveExchange, ForestExpress will offer their registered buyers and sellers the ability to negotiate product availability, quality, materials grade, payment terms, and price. ForestExpress customers will be able to shorten procurement time and will be able to collaborate on sourcing of critical goods and services in the recycled fiber and timber vertical markets.

The addition of this product to the ForestExpress platform is designed to integrate business transactions with leading-edge bidding functionality for the benefit of ForestExpress customers. In addition, LiveExchange has an open Java architecture based on common standards similar to XML that can be integrated with other e-commerce technology already used to power ForestExpress, such as CommerceOne, SAPMarkets, and webMethods.
